For the past few weeks I've been working on the costumes for my little bro's musical, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. For those of you who didn't know me before I was ten, I was obsessed with this musical for years. I still know every word and note to the operetta. Thought I was crazy getting dragged into costuming, but it has been a total blast! Last night was opening night, and everything went great! It's not much of a secret that I am a second mom to my younger brother, and I adored seeing him perform. He's gotten so much better! The issue now, however, is that I was planning to study abroad next Spring. This would be the second half of my brother's senior year in high school, when he does his final musical. I really don't want to miss that or his graduation. So I was thinking of studying abroad fall of my senior year instead. That would be Jason's freshman year, and he'll be out of the house anyway. Plus, all of my friends at school will have graduated by then. The solution seems to work, I just don't want to find any more excuses to postpone and not go...

For now, though, I have something more to add to my portfolio. Might even look for a job working at a theatre. Jason and I want to become a Tim Rice/Andrew Lloyd Weber duo and write amazing things now, too, since Jason has started composing.

Btw, did I mention that I totally have a crush on one of the kids playing Joseph this year? Makes the show even better. :)

Can I be an adult but not be a grown-up please?

This must sound crazy from a 20 year old, but I've seriously been itching to settle down. I still have my Jersey cabin fever and want to live abroad, but I'm getting to the point where I would just really like to find someone, get a place to live, find a permanent (or at least semi-permanent for now) job, and start my own family. Maybe it's just because my brother has started to do this, or I watch too much tv, haha. Either way, I'm quickly tiring of living like a college student, having little or no responsibility and just cruising through everything. Not interested in partying anymore, or picking up my life and moving to try new things. I want to move to somewhere I know I'll stay for a bit. Good thing we have an economy that's just so inviting for young people to start living on their own...or not.

But who knows, maybe I'll meet a really cute, really rich girl in Italy next Spring, or maybe even in Paris this summer (going is only a possibility), we'll get hitched, and I wont come home. Sounds like a plan, right? Anyone reading this had better visit me wherever I end up! :)

Snowmaggedon

I feel like an elementary school kid with how excited I am about the snow! I think I'm going to have to take a few hours tomorrow to do snow sculpting and see what I can achieve. :) Plus, the adult part of me is soo glad for an extra work day. Snow days are unlike anything. They are an excuse to do no work, not answer your phone, and not even leave the house. They're better than just a day off. I'm totally gonna make hot chocolate and some kind of delicious dessert. Ya know, in between all that reading and work I'm gonna get done... ;)
